Prime Day is going to be a two-day event again in 2021, taking place across 21st and 22nd June. If previous years have been anything to go by, this is going to be a huge event with some epic discounts on smart home technology including many Alexa-compatible devices.

You will need a Prime membership to access the discounts, but with such huge savings, it often makes sense to sign up just for the deals, then you get the added benefit of next-day delivery and Prime video all year.

Throughout the event I’ll be keeping this page updated with the very best deals I can find.

Best Smart Home Deals So Far

Here is a round up of the best smart home technology deals in the 2021 Prime Day deals so far:

All prices are correct as of 21st June 2021.

Ring Doorbell AND Echo Show 5

Ring’s new Wired doorbell was already a bargain price, but with this Prime Day deal you can get both the doorbell and an Echo Show 5 for just £49.

The wired doorbell is best suited for homes with existing doorbell wiring or a regular plug socket nearby. Once you have synced the doorbell with the Echo Show, you can pull up a live feed at any time by simply asking Alexa.

You can also use the Echo Show to speak with your visitors via two-way audio.

Keep in mind that you will need an ongoing subscription to make the most of the doorbell. If you’d like to avoid ongoing costs, see the next recommendation.

Eufy 1080p Video Doorbell

This next video doorbell is the budget option from Eufy. It has many of the same features as their standard 4K doorbell which I featured as no.1 in my guide to the best video doorbells without subscription, only with a lower video resolution.

The biggest selling point of this doorbell is that the footage can be stored locally on the chime inside your home rather than in the cloud. This saves the need for any ongoing subscription fees.

It has all the basic features that you’d expect from a video doorbell including motion detection, two-way audio, live view whenever you like. However, being a cheaper device, you won’t find advanced AI or pre-roll as you will in more premium video doorbells.

Echo Dot (4th Gen)

The latest 4th gen Echo Dot has had a massive price cut for Prime Day. If you’ve not upgraded from the previous generation just yet, or your looking to add Alexa into more rooms, now is the perfect time to do it.

The 4th gen has had a facelift compared to the 3rd gen and has a faster chip inside. The speakers also face forward instead of upward which improves sound clarity.

The 3rd gen Echo Dot is also on a Prime Day deal although it’s only £5 cheaper than the 4th gen so I’d recommend opting for the newer model.

Switchbot Curtain

This nifty little gadget is one of my favorite smart home devices as it can retrofit to your dumb curtains to make them smart.

Installation is a piece of cake, just pop it on your curtain rail or rod (make sure you get the correct version) and connect it to the internet. You can set up schedules for opening and closing your curtains, add it to your routines, or even ask Alexa to do it for you.

Ecovacs Deebot N79S

There are tons of deals on robot vacuum cleaners for Prime Day, one that stands out for me is the Ecovacs Deebot N79S.

I featured this in my guide to cheap robot vacuum cleaners and now with a Prime Day deal it costs little more than £100.

With that you’ll get a decent little vacuum that’s suitable for low to medium-pile carpets. There’s no mapping so it takes a random path around your home, although I couldn’t find any Prime Day deals on the mapping vacuums.

It can connect to an app to basic functions and can also be told to start/stop/return to base using Alexa.

Ring Smart Alarm Kit

I featured the Ring Alarm System in my guide to the best smart alarm systems in 2021. In the review, I noted how easy it is to set up and expand in the future. of course, being owned by Amazon, the Ring system integrates seamlessly with Alexa.

Both the 5 piece and 7 piece starter kit are on a Prime Day deal with at less than half price.

Ring Spotlight Cam

The Ring Spotlight Cam is one of my favourite accessories for Alexa and with this bargain Prime Day price, it’s great value for money too.

You’ll be able to ask Alexa to bring up a live feed on your Echo Show or Fire TV Stick whenever you like.

The camera is battery-powered with an easy-to-change battery. You can also add a second battery pack for backup power or there’s an optional solar panel to keep it topped up.

Tado Smart Thermostat

I would go as far as saying that the Tado smart thermostat is better than market-leading Nest.

Not only is it much cheaper (even more so with the Prime Day deal), but it also has the ability to add zoning. This allows you to add valves on each radiator through your home to change the temperature room-by-room.

The Prime Day deal only includes the starter pack with hot water control which provides the basic setup. You’ll need to purchase radiator valves for zoning which are an added cost.

I have been building up my smart home since 2016 so I'm a bit of a smart home expert by now. On this blog, I share my favourite smart home devices that I've tested along with tips and tricks I learn by watching countless YouTube videos, scrolling through forums, and tinkering around with my own smart devices. I've always been a Google Home user but I'm starting to think Alexa might have the edge, what do you think?
